Getting my wires crossed

I have been out and about with the 6D today. Electing to walk to spinning group, I packed knitting and camera and set off in good time to allow a familiarisation session with the Tamron lens. I elected to set ISO to Auto and to try and get the hang of manually focussing landscapes by estimating Hyperfocal Distance. My, what a disaster.

I'm declaring myself underwhelmed by today's results and heading back to the learning materials.
