Camellia (la dame aux...)
A ghastly day - torrential rain, grey and windy. Himself was up in the roof doing manful things regarding plumbing - once the electricity came back, the cold tap and the loo in the bathroom wouldn't work. We have a lot of manganese in the ground and the pipes were just thick with it. He used a very technical method to get things going again and gave a mighty blow down the pipe which seemed to work.
I sorted out a little break. We're off to the Aran islands (Irish ones) at the end of May. There are three islands - large, middle and small, and we're going to spend two days on each. We are flying from Connemara International Airport - the flight is seven minutes! The plane is very small. two ferries will also be undertaken but again time afloat is mercifully short. I don't travel well.
In the afternoon CarolineL came round to give some advice re replanting in the garden and was very optimistic and uplifting. Himself gave us both a LightRoom lesson, so a very edcuational afternoon all round.
Too wet to blip outdoors, so I grabbed a few camellias which are remarkably hardy, have survived the storms and are in full bloom.
