Fresh salad

I had a day off today so I went up to the allotment with Mr H, the first time I've been up there for ages what with so much working and coughing. There were some wee flowers showing through - primroses, crocus and a lovely dark iris. The garlic and the broad beans are looking promising. The remaining kale and collard greens had been nibbled almost to death, probably by the fat b*stards (should be pecked rather than nibbled come to think of it).

These two little lettuces have been quietly growing here throughout the winter, without any protection.
