The story of the Grey Squirrels in Princess Street Gardens is in some ways a sad one. The Grey Squirrels were introducted to Britain from America, and, missing and natural predators, displaced the indigenous Red Squirrels almost entirely.

Today, loads of Grey Squirrels roam the city of Edinburgh, especially the parks. In Princess Street Garden, you can say hello to a bunch of them whenever the sun comes out.
