Prestonpans Tapestry.
C1 and I caught the bus out to Prestonpans to see the tapestry. It consists of 104 panels, all hand embroidered, telling the story of Charles Stewart from the day he left his father in France promising him three crowns to the Battle of Prestonpans where General Gardner fell beneath the thorn tree and Prince Charles marched on to Edinburgh to declaim his father king at the Mercat Cross.
It was a beautiful morning and we enjoyed the sunshine and the breeze almost as much as the exhibition. The tea room gave us tea and Lemon Placenta cake (don't ask). And altogether it was a lovely day out.
I came home for a very civilised snooze.
Happiness.
