A seal measuring between five and six feet in length was observed on the slipway at the northern corner of Scarborough harbour this afternoon. The area was cordoned off, for the protection of the seal and the public - seals can deliver a nasty bite. The Sea Life Centre attached signs to a railing, warning people not to approach it and suggesting that it would go at high tide, at 1.05am Wednesday.
