Nesssaintee's World

Chewsday

It's been a mostly glorious sunny day today, an ever present enthusiastic wind bringing a chill to it.
A lovely crescent moon to light the way, Mars bold in my south western sky and birdsong on the walk down to the railway station this morning, followed by more birdsong, light rain drops and a lovely sun rise on the walk up to work from Muir of Ord station.
This was my sky earlier as seen from the naughty step, an all too brief view of the top half of Orion.
And right at the top, half in, half out of shot is Jupiter.
This time last year Jupiter was in the constellation of Taurus where it didn't look out of place with all the other delights on show in that part of the sky.
Jupiter is in Gemini this year and strangely I barely notice the constellation,
On a clear night I can see Sirius shining brightly through the branches of this tree.
Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky and one of the three stars that make up the winter triangle asterism along with Betelgeuse and Procyon.
It has just occurred to me that with Jupiter in the mix just now, it makes a diamond shape.
Need to try and capture a pic of the four.
Thought I'd share that muddled bit of musing with you
Hope you've all had a brilliant day
