Early Pussy Willow
Our dwarf willow tree is already beginning to develop catkins - so I tried to capture a few today.
I don't have a macro lens, so this was taken with a 50mm prime lens and a 12mm Kenko extension tube. The wind was fairly strong so I used a burst of shots in the hope that one might be sharpish! This was the best of the bunch.
The tree itself we grew from a sapling - it came home poking through the car sunroof! It is a weeping type grafted on to a trunk, hence the downward pointing catkins.
A few years ago one of the main roots snapped in a gale and the poor tree fell over, and in desperation I propped it up with a piece of timber - and it is still alive!
