Winter

During the spring and summer, this sad, droopy stuff is a stripey ribbon grass, providing a good filler and contrast to other plants.
But now, towards the end of winter, it is looking very dry, rustling in the wind, and all the colour has gone.
Cutting it back in order to let the new growth come up is just one of the many tasks waiting for me in the garden. Yes, it was a lovely afternoon today, but it was our bookclub meeting, so no time for gardening!
