For Swan Upping

It will not be long before these whooper swans start their journey northwards towards their breeding grounds.

They do not give any advance warning of their impending departure.

Some of them must be juvenile birds because they have not yet developed their characteristic yellow beaks.

Year after year they come to this district to spend the winter, but not necessarily in the same field.

And to answer your question - no I could not get any closer I am afraid!
