Clifford's Tower

One of York's most popular tourist attractions, the views of the York skyline are spectacular from the top of the tower and it is always awash with visitors.

The tower is all that is left of York Castle built by William the Conqueror which has been rebuilt and remodelled several times. As to how it got its name history is rather vague but the most colourful version is that Richard de Clifford was hanged there for opposing Edward ll.

When the daffodils are in bloom the whole mound is covered in yellow.

The tower is situated adjacent the the Castle Museum and my dentist!!!!
