Linton & Andrew (Emmerdale writers)

Once a month, all 24 writers of Emmerdale come together for two days, and we discuss the next month's worth of episodes for Emmerdale. That's twenty four episodes, where we work out the continuation of all of our character's stories. It is such a safe environment, we pitch anything, we share stories, we laugh a lot, we tear our hair out at times. We argue, we get excited, we exhaust ourselves. At night we stay in a hotel, often eat out together, and talk more stories. So much of a writer's life is spent in his own office writing made up worlds, so conference is a high light for some. I sit next to these two lovely men, Linton to my right, Andrew to my left. They listen to my naughty whispers and try not to laugh too much. And we get into some good arguments about story. Like most of the writers on our show, they are kind, funny, talented people and I'm blessed to be working with them.
