I am at my lace class and I asked if they minded if I took a picture of the pillows and bobbins
Torchon lace with the bobbins with glass spangles on the ends
They not only look very pretty but serve a purpose to put tension on the work

Some people collect just the glass bobbins they are so varied .
I have some made from bone,aluminium,brass, every type of wood possible.
The Lady at the back in dark pink is my teacher Veronica Wright her work is amazing and she is always so patient with everyone. She teaches lace in Holland on sea.
I find lace work very relaxing to do and look forwards to the sessions
My work which is the one at the front on the left side of the table is worked using only 64 bobbins
Some ladies work like a small tablecloth can use over 300 bobbins.
if you have a sewing box and have cotton reels in it and they get tangled without you touching them

You can appreciate looking after 300 small cotton reels on a pillow lot of the work is keeping them all tidy
