Pollination Prize

Watching this bee work these crocuses this afternoon was quite enjoyable.

The flowers required the bee to climb completely inside to get the pollen it was after.

The flower would shake and bulge a bit as the bee moved around inside.

Then the bee would emerge head first and push through the small opening created by the flower’s incurving petals .

Both the bee and the flower knew what they were doing to meet their needs.

Such wonderful dance partners to watch in action.
