This is an oak tree, known locally as "Priests oak" because there is supposed to be a priest buried under it!
Maybe that is why it has grown so well, it has a huge girth and a massive canopy.
Using my proper "borrowed" camera, I liked the texture of the bark on the branches. The welcome sunshine made all the difference.
