Cedar of Lebanon

Up until a couple of years ago a magnificent Cedar of Lebanon stood beside Walton Hall at the centre of the Open University campus. It was over 200 years old. But it was infested by some aphid or other in the summer of 2007 and never recovered. I heard ominous sound of distant chain saws when I was down a couple of weeks ago, but only just had a chance to come and see the result.
