Playing the Circus

we went to an excellent exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art today called 'Playing the Circus'. 10 rooms have been transformed for the exhibition to show different parts of the circus through art - paintings, drawings, collages, interactive displays, films and photographs. According to the write up "with its nimble acrobats, sinister clowns and jesters the circus remains the perfect metaphor for life under any government". I'm not sure the children quite got that much out of it but they certainly enjoyed playing the drum, standing in a cage like the dangerous animals and looking at the costumes. The paintings and drawings weren't bad either!
