Wildlife
A few weeks ago a friend recommended a visit to see the winners in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, but until I saw this Blip from GSOH I hadn't realised that it was on at Tring, so today we paid a visit. There are some fantastic photographs, and my favourite was the winner in the youth section of a crocodile emerging from the water with around eight or nine of it's babies standing on it's back, taken by a 14 year old Indian boy. The rest of the museum is a huge collection of stuffed animals put together by one of the Rothschilds and whilst the methods used to put the collection together would rightly not be tolerated nowadays, it is still a fascinating collection. On the taxidermist's 'To Do' list today:
1. Fit new eyes to the crocodile
2. Mend the tail bones on the Giant Ground Sloth.
Beats 'Attend Meeting' or 'Update Spreadsheets'.
