Flageolot

Mum would have been 76 years young today.

In the early 1950s she was a member of Garryhill Flageolet Band, which was born out of the innovative Mrs Ryan’s attempts to introduce local children to musical instruments. At that time they were the only tin whistle band in Ireland, and performed regularly on national radio. Mum loved to recall those visits to Dublin.
