Windstorm or Snowstorm?

We went to William O'Brien State Park in Minnesota after breakfast to get a bit of a change of scenery from our normal cross country skiing routes. We must be a bit spoiled here in Wisconsin, because many of our local trails are tracked and groomed by the community and are free (although donations are appreciated) - here in the state park it was $6 each, and $5 for the car (the car didn't ski). Still, no turning back, and we handed over the cash ($17!). It was certainly different - quite open, with lakes (frozen of course) and the trails were reasonably extensive. But the snow was heavily windpacked and the tracks were covered with leaves and twigs. It's always nice to be in the outdoors, and I did enjoy my ski, but in general it was a bit disappointing.
