Loch Nevis, Ramp Up

With more strong winds forecast, will the ferry run? Will we be stuck on Canna for another two days? Eventually the Calmac website said it would run, heading out of Mallaig at 9:00, but there may still be disruption. Will the Ferry stop over and depart Canna at 13:40 or will it head back straight away at 11:10 - this is actually a timetable option. Initially we were told it was going to stop over. Given the weather not an ideal option for us to be "homeless", but Winnie had a plan. Then all change it's not stopping, but heading back straight away - fine by us.

RCB found a Red-breasted Merganser as we walked to the pier. The ferry duly arrived, but sort of missed the ramp. You needed to drive on and off, walking on dry shod wasn't exactly an option. We got loaded into an NTS Land Rover, but weren't allowed to drive on. The latest story was the ferry'd depart at 12:20. Hey ho, the weather had relented, so time for a wander and take today's blip photo of the ferry with its ramp up, refusing to take on passengers.

At least at 12:20 it made a better job of finding the ramp and walking on dry shod wasn't a problem. With all the worries of high winds the journey back to Mallaig wasn't really a problem either and then a problem free drive back to Perth. All's well that ends well.
