Paczki

We grew up in a fairly ethnically diverse community so we've been exposed to quite a few cuisines/traditions. One of our favorites are these jelly or creme filled fried donuts, a Polish treat, that are served before Ash Wednesday. Traditionally, they were made to use up the fattening ingredients (butter, eggs, etc.) that would be set aside for Lent. We determined today that they no doubt deliver a thousand calories or so. Better eat them now since they'll be gone next week.
