Oregon Moment

Driving in to work today I saw this lovely lady standing on the sidewalk in the rain, huge cross-cut saw in hand. Of course I had to stop and chat with her. She happily explained how the saw had been in her family for years and that she was now trying to sell it on Craigslist. She was, in fact, waiting to "close the deal," as she said, and the buyer was late. She offered me the saw for $45 - I declined, only because I already have one.

I'm not sure why, but this whole thing struck me as an Oregon moment - rain, moss covered roof, kindly woman with a giant saw standing near the street. I love it.
