Not quite as planned...

I've had a day off from work today, and whilst it's been lovely and relaxing to hang out with my darling wife, it's fair to say not all had gone entirely to plan...

Originally we were hoping to head out kayaking on Akaroa Harbour, but unfortunately the wind turned sharply not long after setting off, so we had to return to shore as the swell built. The shot here shows our kayak, annoyingly on the shore.... Our picnic then became a car picnic, as we stopped at the base of the Onawe Peninsula, watching the cold and strong southerly blow in across the harbour.

Before the rain set in though we did manage to make our way to the Barry's Bay cheese factory. A friend of ours works there, so we had a chat whilst we collected some cheese.

Now at home, the fire is stoked (9C outside!) and Zoey has taken up her normal space before the fire. The inclement weather has also ensured tonights star photo blip meet has been cancelled too.
