Lovely Surprise!

I received a message from Fran a couple of days ago. Other than one time, we haven't met since we left school forty years ago. Fran had a Christmas present she needed to use up, afternoon tea for two at a hotel in Skipton, and she invited me along.

In and around the sandwiches (with crusts cut off!); the yummy cakes and the very welcome kettle of winter Pimms, we've talked our socks off for almost three hours, caught up with each other's families, discussed education, retirement, holidays, relived daft school memories/friends/teachers and rediscovered we still have much in common. We parted company with the agreement to meet up and do a walk around St Ives before another forty years go by!
