Back to the trusty Sony a-290 and the 300mm Minolta lens, 1/4000s at f/5.6 and 100ISO and a Baader Solar Filter (made out of two 55mm UV filters with the Solar Filter material sandwiched between them). A stacked image from 23 images taken in almost ideal conditions this morning, processed in PIPP, then in Registax to produce the composite image, then in Photoshop to add the Orange Filter and produce the .JPG image.
The image shows the old group of sunspots rotating out on the right equator, the group that were on the left upper limb are now in the centre of the equator and the returning AR1990 is on the left equator.
The G2 level storm from AR1990's flare that produced the auroras last night is now subsiding, but the spot still poses a threat of more activity in the days to come. Just hope the seeing's so good over the next few days.
