Meeting place at London's St Pancras Railway Stn

The 'St Pancras Lovers' is a 30 feet tall bronze statue of a couple locked in an intimate embrace at St Pancras International Station in London (this station is the Eurostar Terminus for trains to Paris). This is the meeting point at the station which has been designed by the British sculptor Paul Day to evoke the romance of travel. It is a poignant meeting of a chic French woman reunited with her English lover and aims to symbolise the meeting of two cultures as it sits beneath the imposing iron archways constructed by engineer William Barlow in 1868.

If you are visiting London at any point, do try to visit this station - it showcases some of the finest pieces of public art. Also, see this link for more information about this most beautiful station: here.

A professional photographer came over to talk to me while I was taking this photo this evening. He mentioned how he takes photos of such public art pieces in London and shares them on Flickr. He drew my attention to the shoes in this statue - especially the raised heel of the woman's shoe - he said that the raised shoe captures the essence of this statue for him.
