Bangour Village Hospital closed to psychiatric patients in 2004, 98 years after opening. It now is a ghost site with the core buildings of the hospital, including administration offices, church, power station, nurses home and a series of residential villas for patients all gently decaying on a large estate with metalled roads and bus stops.
