Mongolian Night
There's this great Mongolian restaurant in the central part of the city called Shinkiro designed like a big yurt where everyone sits around a large, circular room. At some point in the night, after lots of drinks and meat, especially lamb, have been consumed (all you can eat and drink for about $35!), the owner brings you outside the main room to a closet with Mongolian costumes in it, picks one out and puts it on you. I've been to this place enough times that the owner knows me now and I always end up in an outfit without a shirt but with some leather armor-like item, or just arm covers and short-shorts, which are apparently both wrestler garb.
After everyone is in costume, the owner starts singing a song, getting the whole room clapping and singing along with the chorus while he passes around shots from a flask of a Mongolian vodka.
Tonight it was a friend's birthday. He and his wife had a baby about a year-and-a-half ago, so we don't get to see them out that much. When they do come to the city, you know many drinks will be drunk. And they were.
