The Whore of Babylon

Day 1: The Whore of Babylon.

1st of March, Day one of my challenge. This week in one of my English seminars we started on The Faerie Queene, an epic poem by Edmund Spenser. One of the characters that stuck out for me was the so called 'Whore of Babylon', also known as 'Babylon the Great, the mother of the harlots and of the disgusting things of the earth.' Nice.

After seeing some images of her in the lecture and looking around at some on Google I thought it would be a pretty interesting thing to try and draw. I'm tempted to continue drawing things related to my course, there is a lot of great art accompanying the literature we study
