Don't choose my shoes

Last night I dreamt I went into a shop after taking my shoes off in the shoe removal area. And when I came out someone had nicked my shoes (these shoes in fact) and I was trying to put on a pair of dirty grey canvas shoes in a state of dreamy confusion. These shoes are very nickable and desirable. They can hover indefinitely above beige carpet.
I think I dreamt the last bit first and then back-dreamt the shoe removal area as I don't think I have that sort of foresight and can't think why I'd want to dream about shoe removal areas unless it was pertinent to the story. And is it dreamt or dreamed?
