Demolition

So we were going to spend the day decorating but Mr H discovered that the pergola with the honeysuckle and virginia creeper attached had further collapsed and needed urgent attention. The recent storms had done their damage and for a few weeks the walkway to the first floor has been out of bounds to everyone but Polly ( she's a brave little cat). So we donned gloves, grabbed some rope, and set to. Mr H lassooed the pergola and pulled.........and pulled.
Top left shows the before picture. Top right shows a very proud man perusing the demolished construction. Bottom left is the broken framework and bottom right shows how smart it looks now I've cleaned up ! Such fun !

Off out tonight to the River Cottage canteen for supper - thank goodness cos we're knackered !
