Brough Law Hill Fort

Up above the Ingram Valley, one of the best hillforts in an area rich in archaeology. Picture is looking south-east back down the valley towards the hills south of Ingram. On this day we had planned to do a circular round the back of the wood you see in the middle distance, but a hunt with a pack of hounds had gone there before us and required a diversion back round the other way to the river below.
Lovely Saturday afternoon - lots of snowdrops around, and a brisk walk up the hill. Tea and cakes afterwards at the wonderful Muddy Boots cafe at Ingram.
Even Newcastle managed to win a game (4-1 at Hull).
