Deep in the forest - 2854

Today was once again misty and damp. I took a walk into the forest. I followed a track that is normally deep in snow at this time of year but that had been cleared by the snowplough. I guessed it was for forest work but I wanted to see how far it went. In summer I can follow the track for a 10 km circuit that leads back to the road.
Well, it wasn't cleared that far! After about 5 km I reached these stacks of timber.
The wood was stacked in 4 labelled piles - for timber, for pulp, birch for pulp, and dead wood for the district heating plant in Härnösand. Every log has the number 2854 stamped on the end. I guess this shows where the trees come from and ensures the right owner get paid.
