primrose

Up reasonably early to catch the train to New Mills to see some friends we haven't seen for ages I took some photos of this and the clematis on the pergola which will be fully out by the time we get back, and hopefully, if it's sunny, filling the garden with its scent

Got to New Mills by the middle of the afternoon, and then we went for a stroll up the road into the hills. I've liked New Mills ever since Steve and Corinne moved here about thirty years ago and one of the things I like is the way though it's a proper town with pubs and shops and even quite a developing artistic community these days you're never more than a ten minute walk from the Peaks

It was lovely and sunny with a bright blue sky and I took several photos, but I wanted to mark this first primrose as my blip.

We visited the new house and looked at possibilities for minor alterations. It's a house you could move straight into but they're renting at the moment while they're between houses and they can get some things done before they have to live there. Nice sized garden, big but not intimidating and even a brick built workshop. It's beautifully situated, with allotments behind and the Sett Valley trail beyond them, and the back windows have views of the hills
