The Shrine to Miss Dolores.

A great walking day, although it was cool you could really feel the warmth in the sun today the first day of spring.

Although we have walked the Goyt Valley a couple of times before we have never managed to walk the path that takes you to the Shrine to Miss Dolores.

Errwood Hall - that is now a ruin in the Goyt Valley, was the family home of the Grimshawses. Miss Dolores de Bergrin, a Spanish aristocrat was a teacher at a private school attended by some local children and a family friend, when she died on a visit to Lourdes, the family built a shrine to her memory. It is located on the moor below Foxlow Edge.
