Can I have this dance... for the rest of my life..

I still hear the words of that song, echoing loudly round the dance floor as the band struck up their first song, and struggled to get their balance right.

The first words sung sweetly and melodically with the minimum of background music, and then the guitars struck up and twanged, and the feedback made the mike burst in to action, it was only a second and a couple of words, but "Can I have this dance", must always be sung really loudly...

A bit juddery and stuttering, which went well with our dancing.

Those of you who know me "over on the other side", will know that yesterday was our wedding anniversary. We decided rather on the spur of the moment that we would partake in a little drinky seeing as neither of us had any other previous engagements, the sun was shining, and we did have due cause.

By the time we left the house, it was freezing. So rather than the brisk, refreshing walk we jumped the train. Getting the train allowed us to stop and look at the venue where we were married. Sadly demolished now; a two blocks of "Luxury Apartment" stand were we once stood and said "I do".

I posted a picture of the two of us, with the building over our shoulder, and not one person would believe that I was 15 when we got married. :-(

Suffice to say, that today the pair of us are in about the same state we were in this time 23 years ago. The years have not improved our tolerance for alcohol, and despite the two of us running bars for a couple of years,we are complete lightweights - and come 8.30 last night, the two of us were to be found, holding each other up, dancing round Tesco looking for something nice.

It'll be an early night tonight pet!
