Captain Tobes and Adam Ant / Captain Jack Sparrow

Today we had a party for Toby's forthcoming birthday. Pirate themed - or a pretty princess if you preferred. We also had a witch there. We all had a fantastic time with a big bouncy castle, digging for treasure, decorating a treasure chest with copious amounts of glitter and walking the plank into the gunk tank (lime jelly - 10 pints of!!)

We were up to the wee hours this morning trying to make the pirate ship cake I had baked stop keeling over to one side! Think I crawled into bed at 2.30am thinking I had done enough to make it look okay. When Tobes saw it this morning he complained there was no gunk tank or plank and only two pirates, not three :0( (like on cbeebies Swashbuckler) We soon rectified that with some jelly sweets and chocolate fingers and an extra lego man and Toby spent most of the morning just looking at his cake - suggesting additions such as steps and rope ladders, desperate to play with it and make the naughty pirates walk the plank. Once he'd blown out his candles at the party we put it on the table and he sat down with some of his friends and played with it. He didn't want to go in the real gunk tank!

A fantastic but exhausting day. Looking forward to a nice day out just the four of us on Tuesday when my baby boy turns four!
