Contemporary bird boxes
The second day of our Squad Weekend saw us at the Robin Hood Trophy orienteering event in Clumber Park. Before our runs we strolled around the visitor facilities to locate the cafe and came across this artwork in an avenue of cedar trees. According to the information it was installed by London Fieldworks and is a birdhouse with hundreds of chambers and reflects on the history of the estate. "Why did the Dukes of Newcastle build such an extensive property that in 1938 had to be demolished due to lack of finance?" Although no grand house remains, the estate is very popular for what remains, the lake, woodland walks and flora, cycle hire, walled garden etc. Kiteseeker also blipped at Clumber today! Great cricket pavilion!
I made a significant error on my run which put me down the results but it was a good outing and, touchwood, I didn't feel as lethargic as on previous runs.
An enjoyable weekend but back to work tomorrow.
On another note, I think it's now safe to share our other exciting, lovely news (as everyone who needs to know in the scheme of things has been contacted!). Pete proposed to our Jen whilst they were away on a weekend in Oxfordshire and she has said yes, woo hoo! Love and congratulations to you both xx
