Wollescote Hall, Wollescote Park
The park is now formed around Wollescote Hall, this grade two listed building was given to the people of Lye and Wollescote by Ernest Stevens in 1930.
The hall was to benefit the community with the provision that there would be no discussions of politics, drinking of alcohol and ball games on Sundays. There is a sign up indicating that due to the covenant no ball games can be played on a Sunday and it is strictly enforced too.
What a miserable day today has been, lets hope tomorrow is much better as I have to attend the hospital for my 4 monthly check up. I have put a few pounds on but nothing to get worried about and is quite normal after a couple of years.
