Promising

I don’t know a lot about frogs and toads, but I think this one’s a bit early. No winter, no hibernation?

Anyhow, at first I thought it was a leaf, until it started hopping around on my deck. When I grabbed my camera for a pic of my PRINCE, it didn’t move after it had squeezed its front leg between the floor boards, ready to vanish if I’d come too close.
So there I was, crouching down, zooming in and wobbling without a tripod. Didn’t dare to come any closer as I didn’t want to scare it off or have it jump towards me (I’m such a hero, NOT).

Or, maybe, both my PRINCE and I were a bit shy, but I find it rather promising that he was there, this early and all...
