Tick Tock

This is.....the inside of the grandfather clock! You can see the weight on the chain, and the pendulum is blurred as it swings, tick, tock, tick, tock.
My mother told us the clock dates from William and Mary's time, (their joint reign began in 1689) and it still keeps quite good time, losing about five minutes every few days. It strikes the hour, but only runs for 24, so every night I have to wind it up!
Just think of all the people who have done that since the 17th century!

Lunch in one of our favourite country pubs today beside a roaring fire, and home to the papers! Very heavy rain once again this afternoon, so no chance of any outdoor activity!
