Little treasures
Tonight, when I went to check on Isaac after he went to bed, he asked me to tell him the story from when I was a little girl, the one about the hole in the boat. About a month ago, I told him several stories about visiting my granddaddys house when I was younger. In one of the stories, he and I took his fishing boat out on his pond only to discover that there was a hole in the bottom of the boat. I was surprised that Isaac remembered this story. He asked me where my grandaddy was now, and I explained that he was gone...in heaven. Isaac put his hand on my arm and sweetly said, "Mommy, do you wish you could see your granddaddy again." I told him that I did. He said he wanted to see Granden and Sue-sue again. He said he was sad that he didn't get to see Daddy D and then asked if I had pictures. He said that Daddy D looked like Uncle Roger. He said he was sad because he didn't know what his voice sounded like. I love those sweet conversations. I cherish conversations like this. I do wish I could my sweet Daddy D again, and I wish Isaac and Ollie could know him, and spend a day at his house, fishing in his pond and eating blackberries off the vine.
