Melancholy
This shot shows you how much water there is about here just now!!
I took it when driving back from dropping JJR and JDR at the airport and train station respectively. I had a bit of an emotional journey back...I think it's my age...I did a bit of thinking.
On Friday afternoon a local man was killed very suddenly in a car accident. I didn't know him but I know his children from my time helping in the nursery. He was 34 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. He had just got into the Scottish darts team and had many things to look forward to. My heart goes out to his family. I couldn't get the whole thing out of my head. It just shows how delicate and fragile life is. We should appreciate every moment. All the petty little arguments and things we worry about don't matter. It's the things we don't worry about that tend to blindside us.
One of my favourite films at the moment is "About Time". It's a sort of English, Notting Hill type film and the theme running through it is that we should live every day as if it were our last. Take time to smile at the shop assistant.....play with the kids......be nice to each other even when we're tired.....get off the couch and walk the dog with your wife or husband even when you can't be bothered.....don't waste time arguing about petty things....don't worry about what other people think of you. Take pleasure in life!
I think I suffer from a wee touch of separation anxiety too. I always feel like this when family members go away!!
Anyway I know my daughter and husband will groan at my emotional rant but I feel so much better now that I have said it!!
Have a very good day today....I mean that sincerely!!
