Welcome to Poundbury!

This is the dream village of Charlie-Boy where I am house and inhabitants caring this week. "Village" is a complete misnomer as it is already a massive carbuncle on the side of Dorchester and as you can see from the pale pink on the map, still has a considerable way to go. The original building work in the bottom right section does have cottage style houses and a pretty little square with shops, village hall and pub. We were all sweet talked and lulled into a false sense of security. Everything that has gone up since is on such a grand scale that it would look more at home in Bath and the shops and businesses have been placed using a scattergun approach leaving little sense of focus. If you were to ask me where the patchwork shop is or the cake decoration business or the bead shop, I could no more tell you than fly to the moon (even though I know they exist and are only streets away). I was going to do this as a Mono Monday but decided you needed to see the pinks. ......more to come tomorrow!
