Having been in Italy an entire two weeks without eating a single pizza, I felt the need to rectify this. So one of my Edinburgh friends and I headed to a place on Porta Romana on Friday evening to try it out. Were slightly put off by the fact that it looked slightly like a takeaway place from the outside but as soon as we stepped inside we were presented with a taster piece of pizza and a glass of prosecco before being lead to another room. Things were looking up. The restaurant itself only had a menu consisting of 7 pizzas but the quality of the pizzas more than made up for the lack of choice. I thought we'd been doing quite well with our free glass of prosecco, then at the end of the meal we not only got a glass of some fruit liquor but also got to chose what flavour we wanted. To top it off when we went up to pay, we weren't allowed to leave until we'd done a shot. Its like they were trying to get us drunk... Maybe hoping we'd forget we'd already eaten. Anyway way we braved the pouring rain to have dessert at this incredible creperie near le colonne before heading for shelter in one of the bars under the arch by le colonne.
