Water Droplet

There were water droplets all over the trees in our garden early this morning - this is one on a Japanese Maple which is just coming into bud.

The tree as a whole looked quite magical but as I couldn't get a reasonable background for the shot I have gone for this 'isolate one droplet' approach.

Taken with a Speedlite on the hotshoe, but as the water is around 30mm from the front element the majority of the light is from above.

The photography show at the NEC today was very busy, so little opportunity for a shot there, not exactly sure what to thnk of it really - I didn't think the 'show deals' were anything special and there was a lot of duplication of stands.
