CCC: Mallards In The Quad!
See her beautiful plumage in large ("L"). That is the Pelican Sundial's base in the background, behind the drakes.
What a wonderful surprise: I stumbled across these mallards (a female and three male suitors) in the main quad of Corpus at about 8:15 this morning. It was rather surreal, but apparently it happens every year... The gardener said that a mallard had even nested in one of the flower beds one year, but a fox got the eggs.
I really couldn't decide which image to blip, so have put up a set on Flickr (click right from here).
Highlights:
Mallards in the quad (bleach bypass)
Flapping
Beautiful plumage (my Alternative: a close call, but less context...)
Checking their pigeon holes?
... and they're off!
p.s. Thank you so much for sending my weekend pictures to the Spotlight! It was a thrill that you enjoyed them so.
