Nets and knots

Coils of rope
Frayed and faded
And plastic hoops
Help contain the nets
Created from an intricate network
Of knots
Tightly wound on their giant spool
For Sunday rest
Before the weekly catch begins.

We walked from Herne Bay to Whitstable yesterday to meander around the harbour. I find these nets and their patterns and textures fascinating - I was tempted to boost the colours but decided to go for the shot straight from the camera instead. A great walk - saw lots of oyster catchers and a couple of curlews.
