Foggintor Quarry
Mono for mono Monday with hail, rain, thick fog and then sunshine on the drive home.
This is one big hole in the moor! Work started here in 1800 and the granite was originally used for the Construction of Dartmoor Prison at Princetown about two miles away. There was a tor here once but it was quarried away. The quarry closed in 1906.
Have a look large.
